System of elections to State Duma may be changed to keep Putin in power

The Kremlin is working on a scenario that allows them to save all power in their hands.

The presidential administration is working on a scenario of Vladimir Putin’s transition to the post of prime minister with extended powers in 2024. Bloomberg reports this citing two sources close to the Kremlin, and an unnamed member of parliament from the United Russia political party.

According to the publication, the Kremlin wants to preserve the parliamentary majority of United Russia, which will allow Putin to carry out any laws. According to unnamed sources, 75% of the deputies will be elected as self-promoted, 25% - by lists. Self-promoted ones will actually be members of the United Russia. The disguise is now being used to isolate from United Russia which has falling rating.

The reform will allow Putin not violate to the Constitution - to release the post of the president and at the same time stay in power.
