Sverdlovsk region: Federal Security Service employees carry out searches at Ministry of Health
Head of the Ministry of Health Andrey Tsvetkov is abroad.
On August 21, the Federal Security Service employees have searched the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk region, reports Ura.ru with reference to sources within medical circles.
According to the agency, the searches and seizure of papers have been carried out in the office of a deputy head of the Ministry Yekaterina Yesina who is at the present time an acting head of the Ministry. Head of the Ministry of Health Andrey Tsvetkov is away on vacation. He is allegedly in Portugal.
Source of Ura.ru said that Yesina is supervising procurements of meds in the Ministry. She is called “a prominent representative of Tsvetkov’s team.” She worked with the Sverdlovsk-based antituberculosis dispensary that had earlier been headed by the Minister.
The source of the agency believes that the searches are a part of a campaign for elimination of Tsvetkov from his post.
“Earlier, Tsvetkov was made appoint Oleg Reitblat as his assistant. Reitblat is a person the Minister does not know, at all. This appointment and searches in the office of Yesina are links in the chain. Campaign for elimination of the head of the Ministry of Health from his post has begun,” the source of Ura.ru reckons.
Source of the agency within law enforcement confirmed the information on the searches, but did not manage to say what had caused them.
Tsvetkov’s adviser Yana Dukhnovskaya stated that she had not heard of the set of the covert activities, as she’d been on vacation. Media relations officer of the Sverdlovsk Ministry of Health Konstantin Shestakov told the agency that there had not been searches. “There’s an inspection being carried out. It’s related to a complaint we control ourselves. We will inform everyone as soon as it’s over,” Shestakov said.
September 10 is the day when State Duma deputies return from summer vacation to the building on Okhotny Ryad. Among them is the hero of our previous investigation, the ‘Steel King of the South of Russia,’ Ivan Ivanovich Demchenko. The owner of the Abinsky Electrometallurgical Plant, which withdraws the profits of companies under its control to the accounts of foreign offshore companies, will once again start working as part of the Duma committee on regulations – it is an unchallenging job, necessary for parliamentary immunity of the deputy and his vast business, which brings billions of rubles annually.
