State Duma explained aim of creation of troops of information operations
Creation of new division in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was declared on Wednesday by Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu.
Troops of information transactions created in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are called to provide protection against cyber attacks, the head of the State Duma Defence Committee Vladimir Shamanov declared. According to him, forming of new structure will allow Russia to resist to “challenges in the cybersphere”.
The deputy noted that troops will act for the benefit of a national defense and an antagonism in the information sphere.
Earlier Minister of Defence Sergey Shoigu, acting in the State Duma, declared creation of troops of information transactions in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
“Propaganda should be smart, competent and effective”, Shoigu noted, commenting on new division of the Russian army.
To recall, first time need of creation for the Russian army of cybercommand was declared by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin in March, 2012.
