State Duma approves reinstitution sobering-up stations

The social institutions may be created and on a public-private partnership.

The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill that will allow regional and municipal authorities to create, with the participation of private organizations, sobering-up stations. In some regions, they already exist but so far are outlawed.

The deputies supported the amendments to the law “On Police,” allowing the Interior Ministry to deliver to these stations those who are in public places and at the same time “lost the ability to independently move or navigate in the environment.”

Before placing a drunken citizen in a sobering-up station, a health care provider must check him.
