Simplified pattern to be used in blocking pirate mirror sites
Communication Minister Nikolai Nikiforov spoke of the new procedure.
This week, the government commission on legislative activities approved the amendments to close access to pirate mirror websites. Communication Minister Nikolai Nikiforov said that if the document is adopted, mirror sites could be blocked in a simpler way.
"The Moscow City Court takes the initial decision to block a certain resource. Afterwards, if mirror sites appear and the right holders or Roskomnadzor can see them, then a paper is filed to the Moscow City Court. After that there is a court order rather than just a hearing," Mr. Nikiforov said explaining the new pattern. When asked what damage for the right holders will be prevented if the law is adopted, the Minister gave no response, according to the TASS.
Mirror sites are pirate websites that have been copied and are used after the original pirate sites are blocked. So far, no measures can be taken against auto-generated copies of blocked sites.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
A serious and not at all political clash of interests is taking place at the Russian Federation Council. Kamchatka senators Valery Ponomarev and Boris Nevzorov are failing at deciding how to divide the Kamchatka water resources; both men make millions of dollars off of them every year.
