Russians’ real return falls for sixth year in row

Organizations' wage arrears increased by almost 3 billion rubles.

In January 2019, citizens' incomes in Russia fell by 1.3%, according to the Rosstat’s monthly report, and organizations' wage arrears increased from January to February by 291 million rubles to 2.7 billion. Incomes of Russians have been falling for the sixth consecutive year.

In 2013, the real incomes of Russian citizens increased by 4%, then Rosstat reported only falls: in 2014 - by 0.7%, in 2015 - by 3.2%, in 2016 - by 5.8%, in 2017 - by 1.7%, in 2018 - by 0.2% due to a decrease in incomes of more affluent citizens. In 2019, according to the forecast of the government of the Russian Federation, real revenues of the population will grow by 1%.
