Russian politician's daughter buys £22m mansion in the UK

Earlier, Elsina Khayrova bought an apartment in the center of London for 10 million pounds. The total sum of the two purchases estimated at 2.8 billion rubles (over $4m).

Elsina Khairova, the daughter of State Duma deputy and member of the State Duma’s defense committee Rinat Khayrov, has purchased a mansion in the south of Surrey in the UK for £22 million, Daily Mail pens. The house has 10 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, two elevators, a games room, a private cinema, a spa, a swimming pool, a wine cellar, as well as a garage for six cars. Earlier, Khayrova bought an apartment in the center of London for 10 million pounds. The total sum of the two purchases estimated at 2.8 billion rubles (over $4m).

Rinat Khayrov declared his income in the amount of 105.000 pounds sterling a year. From 1998 to 2007, the official headed the Federal Tax Service of Russia in Tatarstan, and then served as an adviser to the head of the Defense Ministry Anatoly Serdyukov, Lentach reports.

In an interview to Business Online, Khayrov said that he has nothing to do with his daughter’s purchases and noted that her husband is a businessman. "My income was checked a thousand times - and there were no complaints. I'm a public person and I’m transparent so that there cannot be any questions to me. And the fact that this topic is covered by media means that someone needs it," the deputy said.

Elsina Khayrova is married to businessman Dmitry Tsvetkov. Tsvetkov used to run his business in St. Petersburg, yet later he moved to the UK. He bought an apartment in London from one of his business partners. To do this he had to take a loan which he repaid within a year, the businessman noted.

Tsvetkov also said that the Surrey mansion was bought for further resale. "We invest money in the mansion’s final construction, we already have a buyer, and we know at what price the purchase will be made," the businessman said. He also added that the deal is 100% financed by a private bank.
