Russian Parliament goes back to work out of foreign intervention in internal affairs

The Lower House intends to discuss foreign interference in Russia's internal affairs.

Russian State Duma deputies will gets back to hold an extraordinary meeting on August 19 on the issue of interference in Russia's internal affairs. According to Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the lower house of parliament, MPs insisted on holding the meeting.

“Inquiries to the Foreign Ministry, to law enforcement agencies and to Roskomnadzor with a request to provide available information on the facts of interference of foreign states and their structures in the internal affairs of Russia have been prepared,” the State Duma stated.

Earlier, the Head of the Federation Council interim commission on the protection of state sovereignty and the prevention of interference in internal affairs, Andrey Klimov, said that the rallies were organized backed by foreign structures, and foreign media covered the incident one-sidedly.

The Federation Council intends to hold a meeting on rallies and foreign intervention in September. The ambassadors of the USA, Germany and France will be invited to it, who allegedly tried through the media and the websites of diplomatic missions to encourage the Russians to go out to the protest rally on August 3.
