Russian officials disclosed incomes of underage children: the wealthiest child earned almost $46 thousand
Under the anti-corruption legislation, officials are required to indicate assets of their children in declarations.
Russian officials have declared incomes of their underage children, reports Kommersant. The anti-corruption legislation obliges to indicate assets of officials' children, however sources of income remain secret.
The child of Elena Serova, a deputy from United Russia, who earned 2.87 million rubles ($44 thousand) last year, turned out to be the richest in the State Duma. The remaining children of deputies earned from 10 to 100 thousand rubles ($153.4-1.5 thousand). The child of Zaur Iskenderov, deputy from United Russia, has a land plot of 1650 square meters, a house of 420 square meters and a half of an apartment registered in his name. The child of United Russia deputy Alexey Krasnoshtanov owns a 160-square-meter apartment, and LDPR deputy Andrey Lugovoy's child owns a 1,000-square-meter plot and a house of 130 square meters. The child of State Duma vice-speaker Sergey Neverov (LDPR) owns a fifth of a house, plot and furnace room. It is noted that almost all children of deputies have either a share in joint property or own real estate. According to political analyst Abbas Gallyamov, this is due to the fact that prior to the elections to the State Duma in 2016, the election lists were “cleansed of businesspeople.” “The idea was to recruit more social activists and fewer oligarchs to the lower chamber,” said Gallyamov.
When it comes to the Federation Council, the highest incomes of the child were declared by Senator from the Rostov region Evgeny Bushmin. According to his declarations, his child has been receiving an income of 1.5 million rubles ($23 thousand) for the third consecutive year. In addition, an apartment of 72.7 square meters is registered on Bushmin's child. The child of Senator from Stavropol Krai Mikhail Afanasov owns a house of 331 square meters. Last year he earned 126 thousand rubles ($1.9 thousand). Senator Sergey Mamedov’s children have an income of 10 thousand rubles ($153) each. They own a plot of 2021 square meters, a house of 492 square meters and non-residential premises of 162 square meters.
Children of a senator of Moscow region Aleksey Russkikh turned out to have real estate more than others. They have 7 land properties for countryside construction, a housing structure without formal registration, 4 apartments, 7 parking slots and a business structure. Child of a Tambov senator Aleksader Babakov has an apartment with an area of 250 square meters in Belgium. Child of a senator of Novosibirsk region Vladimir Laptev owns 2 land properties with an area of 796 and 1420 square meters and an individual construction with an area of 209 square meters. Child of Yury Fedorov (Udmurtia) owns a land property with an area of 943 square meters. Children of Dmitry Saveliev (Tula region) own 2 apartments (293 and 247 square meters) and 2 parking slots. Child of Igor Panchenko ((Tula region) owns 2 apartments with an area of 80 and 198 square meters and 2 garages (25 and 39 square meters).
Child of a deputy of Belgorod Duma and CEO of an agro-holding Promagro Konstantin Klyuk received 1.2 million rubles ($18.3 thousand) in 2018. Over the previous three years, he had received the same amounts. Children of a chairman of the committee on state structure of the legislature of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District Eduard Yaungad received 1.3 million rubles ($19.9 thousand) in 2018.
One of the underaged children of a deputy mayor of Moscow Anastasia Rakova owns an apartment that is in the use of the official; he earned 720 thousand rubles ($11 thousand) last year. As for Rakova herself, she doesn’t have any property. 2 underaged children of a Minister of property relations of Stavropol region Aleksey Gazarov own a house with an area of 160 square meters in Canada. Children of Stavropol deputy Anatoly Zhdanov own houses with an area of 101 and 51 square meters. Son of a deputy Aleksander Sharobok has an apartment with an area of 66 square meters. Son of a deputy Roman Zavyazkin had income worth of 12 rubles 77 kopeks.
Son of a speaker of the legislature of Chelyabinsk region Vladimir Myakush owns an apartment with an area of 193 square meters. Children of two deputies have houses: child of a director for economy at OAO Magnitogorsk metallurgical complex Andrey Eremin owns a house with an area of 447 square meters; successor of a vice-speaker of the legislature Oleg Golikov owns a house with an area of 298 square meters. Daughter of a chairman of the committee for tourism in Crimea Aleksey Chernyak owns an apartment with an area of 92 square meters.
Political analyst Gallyamov believes that the regions - unlike the State Duma - did not do their best to ‘brush’ the pre election lists. “It is not improbable that the regional deputies are less hard-nosed and did not get used to the public control. So, they hide their wealth in a primitive way,” the political analyst said.
