Russian National Troops to create anti-drone division
Special groups will test the experimental technique for the detection and neutralization of drones.
As part of the elite special forces at high-security facilities, anti-drone groups can be created, said Sergey Melikov, the Deputy Head of Rosgvardiya. This is reported by Izvestia.
According to Melikov, the groups will test experimental models of equipment to combat drones. The issue of the creation of units is being in the works of the FSB, Federal Guard Service and the Defense Ministry. Also, a technique that could detect any type of drones and counteract them is being developed. Several samples are already being tested, but they do not meet the requirements yet, Melikov said.
Expert of the working group on the safety of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Yuri Zakharchenko noted that there is no universal technology for combating drones. The technology should provide detection, identification of the device, guidance and use of various means of defense - from electronic warfare to mechanical weapons, for example, missiles. According to Zakharchenko, the creation of the special division of Rosgvardiya will develop researches in this field.
Earlier it was reported that on the night of January 6 in Syria, radical Islamists attacked Russian military targets. To attack the Khmeimim airbase and the support point in Tartus, 13 drone drones equipped with improvised explosive devices were used. Some of the vehicles were intercepted, and anti-aircraft liquidated others.
After scaring Dagestan with inspections, arrests, and searches, the interdepartmental commission of the Prosecutor General’s Office and ICR has identified key priorities for the regional watchdog authority. After the crackdown on the old clan-based system, the management reforms became more constructive – however, another wave of criminal cases, terminations, and arrests is expected in the republic. The CrimeRussia was figuring out what other Dagestani officials are currently at risk.
