Russian Foreign Ministry uses Telegram despite its blocking
She stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had consulted with Roskomnadzor.
Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova stated in her interview to the Kommersant newspaper that the Russian Foreign Ministry channel in the Telegram messenger does not contradict the court decision. She stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consulted with Roskomnadzor and received explanations on this matter: "The ban does not apply to work in Telegram."
"Let me throw this out - the court decided to close the store. But people continue to go into, and the store also works. The court decision does not say that people should not go in and buy something there if the store is not closed," Zakharova replied.
At the same time, the diplomat said that she ceased using it after blocking, and if new court decisions against Telegram are rendered, the Russian Foreign Ministry will follow them strictly.
On April 13, the court granted the requirement of Roskomnadzor to block access to Telegram in Russia for not passing the keys for decrypting user messages to the FSB.
