Rosneft wants to levy compensation for Bashneft's losses from AFK Sistema
The media recognized why the oil company filled a suit for 106.6 billion rubles ($1.86bn) damages.
Rosneft intends to recover the losses incurred by the recently acquired oil company Bashneft at the time when it was part of the AFK Sistema, Interfax reports citing the source.
In particular, it is about reorganization in 2014, when due to unfair actions of AFK Sistema, Bashneft lost the right to indirect ownership of the shares of several enterprises, for example, BESK OJSC and Ufaorgsintez OJSC.
In addition, around the same time, Bashneft lost its right to the debt of the AFK Sistema group and some of its shares that were redeemed by AFK Sistema.
As the CrimeRussia wrote earlier, the lawsuit filed by Rosneft and its affiliated company Bashneft against AFK Sistema for 106.6 billion rubles is related to the actions of the former owner of the Bashkir company, which, according to Rosneft, led to the depreciation of the asset.
