Rosgvardiya comments on Zolotov’s address to Navalny
The head of the service promised to beat Navalny to jelly in the video message.
Director of the Federal National Troops of Russia (Rosgvardiya) Viktor Zolotov wrote a video-appeal to Alexey Navalny "solely on his initiative." Such a message appeared on the website of Rosgvardiya on Friday.
The press service of the agency added that the video was posted on the Net immediately after the recording, and in general, "the information policy of Rosgvardiya is based on the principles of openness, objectivity, and honesty."
Previously, the media wrote that Zolotov did not coordinate his decision to record a video with the authorities, but accepted it personally. Later the Kremlin confirmed it. "Sometimes you have to fight with unscrupulous slander by any means," said Dmitry Peskov, the presidential spokesman.
Recall that Viktor Zolotov accused Navalny of "insulting, slanderous frame-ups" and "called out" the oppositionist. The reason was the publication of an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) into the purchase of products for the Rosgvardiya troops.
Lawyers interviewed by RBC noted that there is no violation of the law in the words of the director of Rosgvardiya, although the statement is "very close" to it.
