Rogozin: Roscosmos does not meet people’s expectations
According to Rogozin, the main challenge to the rocket and space industry lies in the fact that the public’s demand for space policy and the self-awareness of the country as a great space power are many times higher than opportunities.
The opinion of Russians about the country's potential in space exceeds the capabilities of Roscosmos, the head of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin told at a meeting of the Tsiolkovsky Russian Cosmonautics Academy.
According to Rogozin, cited by RIA Novosti as saying, the main challenge to the rocket and space industry today is that the public’s demand for space policy and the country's self-awareness as a great space power are many times higher than existing opportunities, including financial ones. The gap between the expectations of the people and the state of the industry is the main challenge for the rocket and space industry, Rogozin emphasized.
He noted that Roscosmos is writing a new state development program for 2021-2030. It will include all federal target programs for the development of GLONASS, the creation of an extra-heavy rocket, and the development of spaceports.
By the end of the year, Roscosmos plans to conduct nine more space rockets launches. In total, 20 launches of space rockets and 12 launches of combat missile systems have already been carried out this year. In total, 40 launches in a year will be carried out, Rogozin noted.
