Putin: Russia completes its tasks in Syria
He says that thanks to Russia’s efforts, 90 per cent of the country’s territory has been freed from terrorists and there’s more information on those who are in camps.
During a press conference that followed the BRICS countries’ summit, that The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia had completed tasks it had set, including an operation in Syria. “As for Russia’s interests, it was primarily about releasing Russia of infiltration to the territory of the Russian Federation of a large number of well-trained and experienced gunmen. Within this framework, we can’t say we solved 100 per cent of tasks, but on the whole - yes, we did. We completed the task we had set, including an operation in Syria,” the media office of Kremlin quotes Putin as saying.
He also added that thanks to Russia’s efforts, 90 per cent of the country’s territory has been freed from terrorists and there’s more information on those who are in camps. “We know there are hundreds of gunmen and natives of Russia, as well as a few thousand of natives of the former Soviet Republics. How many of them have been annihilated? Not less, I believe,” Putin said.
The head of the country added that the U.S. also facilitated a lot fighting against terrorism in Syria, but for neutral witnesses can observe Russia’s role in this process, taking into consideration intensity of military operations and its results. Meanwhile, Moscow does not consider the American military presence legitimate, Putin noted.
At conclusion, Putin called countries for getting acts together in fighting against terrorism, as it’s a threat for all of us.
