Prosecutor General’s Office: nearly 800 officials dismissed for corruption in 2016-2017
The government employees caught on bribery lost their posts with a formulation “in connection with the loss of trust”, the supervising department notes.
About 380 officials lost their positions in 2016 in connection with the loss of trust. Approximately the same quantity of dismissed persons was registered in the first half of the year 2017, Gazeta.ru with reference to Head of the Supervision of Anti-Corruption Legislation Performance Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Aleksander Rusetsky.
He specified that the dismissals usually happen at the initiative of prosecutors for corruption offenses of officials. Besides, statistically, over 4 thousand Russian law enforcement authorities and more than 400 deputies of the regional and municipal level were condemned for 3.5 years over corruption. Moreover, according to Rusetsky, the number of the revealed corruption violations since 2007 has grown more than three times — from 106.5 thousand to 325 thousand in 2016.
In only 10 years for commission of corruption offenses over 86 thousand persons have been brought to administrative responsibility.
A St. Petersburg company Renessans-Restavratsiya JSC, involved in a criminal case under Art. 169 (Swindling) of the Russian Criminal Code, has been selected to receive the contract.
