Pamfilova says it’s all smear campaign to discredit CEC
Earlier, FBK revealed a four-year-old millionaire grandson of an employee of the Central Election Commission.
CEC Chairwoman Ella Pamfilova said that this is all a smear campaign to discredit the agency, which was paid for by someone she knows. According to Pamfilova, the CEC “has already been blamed for all sins and will continue to be blamed,” RBC reports.
“I know how much money was spent and how much was paid to whom. I’m not afraid, let them search. We all have our jobs,” the publication quotes Pamfilova as saying.
On August 12, Alexey Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Fund released a video on a CEC employee named Boris Ebzeev and his grandson Artur. When the boy was four years old, his grandfather bought him an apartment in an elite club house in Moscow worth about 500 million rubles. FBK published the contract of sale as proof. At that time, Boris Ebzeev led the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, and his namesake son was deputy head of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation.
On August 1, FBK published material about the family of Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalya Sergunina, who owns property worth 6.5 billion rubles. Sergunina oversees the Moscow elections at all levels, and in 2011–2018 she was the deputy of Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on issues of property and land relations.
