No surprises: Lib Dem Vladimir Zhirinovsky runs for President-2018
Zhirinovsky participated in the Russian presidential elections five times - in 1991, 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2012.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky will take part in the presidential elections of 2018, Interfax reports. As deputy speaker Igor Lebedev said at the meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) faction in the State Duma, "at a joint meeting of the LDPR political party supreme council and the LDPR faction in the State Duma on November 20, 2017, a unanimous decision was taken: to nominate leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma, member of the State Council and party chairman Vladimir Zhirinovsky a candidate for President from the political party LDPR."
Mr. Zhirinovsky participated in the presidential elections in Russia five times - in 1991, 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2012. The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party received his maximum result in 2008 - 9.35%.
November 7, it became known that leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov runs for President-2018. Co-founder of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky and opposition politician Alexey Navalny announced their presidential ambitions. Also there are three women - journalists Ksenia Sobchak and Ekaterina Gordon, as well as head of Women's Dialogue party Elena Semerikova. Whether incumbent head of state Vladimir Putin will participate in the election is not known.
Presidential elections in Russia will be held on March 18, 2018.
A large-scale purge of thieves in law, which started shortly after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s coming to power, continues in Armenia. After receiving threats of arrests, thieves were taken in custody for carrying weapons and drugs.
However, the thief, who is currently dividing the spheres of influence in Ukraine’s Odessa region with Antimoz Kukhilava through his representatives, has been sentenced in absentia. Mindiya Goradze is not in Georgia at the moment.
