Moscow City Election Committee spends $254.750 on staff training before elections
One of the contractors stated that they were not engaged in the activities declared in the contract.
The Moscow City Election Commission spent 16.4 million rubles ($254.750) on legal training of employees, including on the methods of verifying signatures. The contract worth 9 million rubles was concluded with the Moscow State University of Law named after O. E. Kutafin (MSLA), at 7.42 million rubles - with the ANO Educational and Methodological Center for Documentation Management and Management, according to Open Media.
The journalist of the publication called the telephone number listed on the ANO website, but an employee of the Legal Center company answered. According to him, their organization does not train the staff of election commissions. At the same time, the Moscow Regional Election Commission has concluded eight state contracts for training for a total amount of 54.9 million rubles.
Invalid signatures became the main reason for the refusal to register opposition candidates for elections to the Moscow City Duma. The denial was received by lawyers of the Anti-Corruption Foundation Ivan Zhdanov and Lyubov Sobol, former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov, ex-chairman of the Yabloko party Sergey Mitrokhin, deputies Yulia Galyamin and Ilya Yashin and others. About a thousand people staged an unauthorized rally in Moscow.
