More than 60% of Russians say situation in country unfavorable for future planning
Only a quarter of the citizens hope that living standards will improve in 20 years.
The situation in Russia is unfavorable for making plans for the future, 62% of Russians say, according to a survey by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM). The opposite opinion was expressed by 28%, because “somehow everything is stable,” and “we always need to plan the future, otherwise it turns out that we are like vegetables”.
The respondents called low incomes, high prices, reduction in work, lack of stability and uncertainty about tomorrow the main problems. The survey was conducted on August 11.
A similar survey of October 7, 2018 showed similar results: 58% of respondents considered the situation in the country to be unfavorable, and 33% had optimistic views about the future.
When asked if the situation in the country would improve in 20 years, about a quarter of the respondents answered in the affirmative. The most optimistic answers were given to the question of improving the quality of education in 20 years – 27% of the respondents answered positively.
