Mobile operators will be pinned down to terminate their services for certain subscribers.

The authorities will work on an issue related to blocking of mobile communication in places of detention. MIA suggested to fight against call-centers in prisons this way. Creation of an app for defence from swindlers’ calls is among other initiatives, reports RBC. Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Oleg Ivanov says none of the options to block the signal has been found the best possible, so far. Employees of penitentiary facilities are prohibited to use mobile phones in the territory of prisons by the inner order, however organizational measures are not enough.

According to Ivanov, in the nearest future, the State Duma member Aleksander Khinshtein is going to introduce a bill that will allow heads of penitentiary facilities to deprive certain numbers of mobile communication.

“The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media preliminarily and up to a point backed the initiative,” Oleg Ivanov said.
