Khakassia Head calls 300% bonus good incentive for effective officials' work
Earlier, Galina Spiridonova, the First Deputy Minister of Finance of the republic, was fired, she was indignant at the huge premium payments.
The Head of Khakassia, Valentin Konovalov, commented on the scandal over the payment of large bonuses to high-ranking officials in the region. He stated that the regional authorities did not intend to refuse bonus payments.
“It’s unreasonable to completely abandon bonuses since this is a significant incentive for the effective work of any employee and officials,” RIA Novosti quotes Konovalov. At the same time, he noted that the authorities are developing a mechanism that will make the accrual of premiums more transparent.
Earlier, the Agency of Informational Messages published a document, according to which Konovalov’s subordinates received awards in the amount of 200–300% of the monthly allowance. The Head of Khakassia allocated a bonus of 300% of the monthly salary to Vice-Governor Yulia Ismagilova, who at that time worked in the administration for about a month, "for the successful implementation of certain tasks." By another decree, he wrote out to the official a bonus of 200% salary. After the scandal, Ismagilova said that she did not receive "neither million nor half million bonuses."
At the same time, the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Khakassia, Galina Spiridonova, lost her position after she opposed the payment of bonuses to the detriment of lower-level civil servants.
