Photos of the ICR Head have become a cause for jokes among social network users for the use of a hand-glass viewing a laptop monitor as computers have a zoom feature.

The Head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, commented on the situation a month after he was studying a video on a laptop under a hand-glass, which was a cause for jokes.

The Head of the department brought a magnifying glass to his presentation at the conference “Law and the State of the Future: Evolutionary Development Strategies” at the All-Russian State University of Justice.

“Here is my favorite topic. So I specifically brought to cheer you up to a little. [Shows magnifying glass]. What is it, comrades? [Listeners: “The hand-glass”]. And what is a meme? Meme? Virtual meme? Why did I bring it: you can find the Bastrykin meme on the Internet. It turns out that I created a meme with this magnifying glass,” Mediazona quotes the ICR Head.

According to him, he "applied the optical image to digital." “I increased the mechanics of digital imaging with the help of optical mechanics of a magnifying glass <...> Now the main problem of technology in forensic science is the combination of digital zoom methods with optical ones,” Bastrykin explained.

He also repeated the information that the son of the deceased father brought a video from the surveillance camera, which he requested to check. The man believed that his relative was drowned in the lake. Since the quality of the shooting did not allow further enlargement of the image, Bastrykin used the hand-glass, after which the shooting was transferred to forensic experts for the new study.

“The swimmer who swam up and took off the man’s leg, so the body lost a boot and sock,” Bastrykin concluded.
