Head of plant in Voronezh, where fallen engine Progress was adjusted, resigned
Head of the Voronezh Mechanical Plant (VMZ) Ivan Koptev wrote a letter of resignation on his own. As specified in Roskosmos, the head of the enterprise's resignation is associated with "unsatisfactory performance and quality of products."
Director General of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Voronezh Mechanical Plant (VMZ) Ivan Koptev resigned at his own, according to the official website of the Russian Federal Space Agency.
The state corporation specifies that the decision on resignation of Koptev is ssociated with "unsatisfactory performance and quality of products." This plant was adjusted Progress space truck engine, which crashed on December 1. Fragments of the machine fell on the territory of Tuva. After conducting a preliminary investigation the Federal Space Agency said that the cause of the collapse of Progress was a violation of the motor assembly technology.
Alexey Uvarov is appointed the acting director general. He served as Deputy Director for the production on VMZ.
We add that the engine 11D55, mounted in Progress, has been developed by the Voronezh JSC Design Bureau of Chemical Automatics (KBH).
