Head of ICR Bastrykin wrote his resignation
The reason for dismissal Bastrykin chose his health.
The information of the CrimeRussia was confirmed: the Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin submitted his resignation to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin's name. The reason for his retirement the senior investigator called the health condition, which does not allow him to head the Department. As a possible successor of Bastrykin is proposed his Deputy, the Major-General of Justice Igor Krasnov. While the President did not sign the document, it is necessary to only wait for the official reaction of the Kremlin. In the Department Head's resignation has not been confirmed.
Earlier, sources of the CrimeRussia reported that the probable cause of the resignation of the Head of the ICR may serve a report of the FSB, in which FSB officers claimed about Bastrykin's loss of control over the agency. The document called the Head of the Main Directorate of inter-agency cooperation and private security of the ICR Mikhail Maksimenko de facto Head of the Investigative Committee. According to security officials, under his instructions were terminated dozens of high-profile criminal cases.
On September 27th the CrimeRussia will publish a detailed material about causes, which might influence the decision of the Head of ICR Bastrykin.
