Earlier, Aleksander Uss believed that fighting fire in the woods was senseless and even harmful.

Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Aleksander Uss who had made his reputation by speaking about the fact fighting fire in the forests was senseless and even harmful has said thank you to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin who had ordered to forward aviation support and military officers to the region.

“I would like to thank sincerely our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and the Ministry of Defence on behalf of citizens of Krasnoyarsk,” Aleksander Uss stated on August 1.

He added that within hours a major aviation group set off for Siberia.

A few days earlier, Uss stated that forest fire was a common natural phenomenon and it was senseless to fight it.

On July 31, the President Putin ordered the Ministry of Defence to use aviation to fight the fires in the Krasnoyarsk region.
