Federation Council approves Dmitry Demeshin as next Deputy Prosecutor General
The ambitious prosecutor is climbing the career ladder despite all scandals.
The Federation Council has appointed Dmitry Demeshin to the post of Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. Earlier it was reported that the head of a Prosecutor General’s department for the implementation of laws in the defense might replace Chaika’s deputy.
We have reported that Dmitry Demeshin is indirectly involved in a number of corruption scandals, but thanks to his connections in the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office, he manages to retain his high positions. His friendship with Artem Chaika also helps.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
