Facebook blocks chief editor of RT Margarita Simonyan
Access to the social network was closed “for violating public standards.”
Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT, MIA Rossiya Segodnya and Sputnik news agency, was denied access to Facebook for three days “for violating the network’s standards,” RT reports. The decision was not preceded by any notice or explanation, Simonyan says.
“I was banned on Facebook. We’ll find out why, for what,” Simonyan wrote on Twitter.
The latest entry on the journalist’s feed was a repost from RT about the September 11 terrorist attack in the United States, which states that The New York Times deleted a Twitter post that said, “18 years ago, planes aimed and destroyed the twin towers.”
