Deputy Prosecutor General meets with residents after events in Chemodanovka
The supervising body took the situation in the Penza Region under special control.
Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Sergey Zaitsev visited the Penza Region and spoke to residents of the Bessonovsky District, where the villages of Chemodanovka and Lopatka, which the local Romani community abandoned, located. Zaitsev instructed the prosecutor of the region, Natalia Kantserova, and the district prosecutor, Oleg Ruzlyaev, to verify all appeals from residents and bring those responsible to justice. The Direcotrate of the Prosecutor General for the Volga Federal District took over the situation in the Penza Region, the press service of the supervisory body reports.
At the meeting with Zaitsev, the residents of the Bessonovsky District complained about the improvement problems, asked for help to restore the police station in the village, build a new school and repair the roads.
Earlier a mass brawl between Russians and Gypsies took place in the area, as a result of which one man died. The locals organized a rally demanding the eviction of community. The diaspora left the village and moved to the Volgograd Region. The court arrested 15 participants in the fight.
