Colonel Zakharchenko’s Mercedes and Porsche sold at auction
The federal budget will receive almost $ 94,000.
Two cars seized from colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko’s relatives were sold at auction for nearly 6 million rubles ($ 94,000). At the same time, their initial price was reduced by 30%, since at first, there were no buyers, the Federal Property Management Agency reports.
“A Mercedes-Benz S500 4MATIC model of 2015 and a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid of 2012 were sold at auction yesterday, April 23,” the report said.
The Mercedes was sold for 3.99 million rubles ($ 62,500), while the initial price was 3.8 million ($ 59,000), and the Porsche – for 2.03 million rubles ($ 31,800), while the initial price was 1.36 million ($ 21,300). The cars belonged, according to the investigation, to Zakharchenko, but were registered in his relatives’ names. The money will be transferred to the federal budget.
The former acting chief of the “T” Department of the MIA’s General Administration for Economic Security and Combatting Corruption, Colonel Zakharchenko, was detained in September 2016. The ex-policeman is accused of bribe-taking, exceeding official powers, as well as obstruction of preliminary investigation.
The detention is related to the investigation into the abduction and murder of Tatyana Sidorova, a deputy of the Ramenskoye District Legislature, and three members of her family, which occurred back in 2012.
