Colonel Zakharchenko loses tooth eating porridge in Lefortovo detention center
The Public Monitoring Committee members asked the administration of the facility to monitor the quality of the food.
Former employee of the MIA’s anti-corruption central board Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko broke a tooth while eating porridge in the Lefortovo detention center, of which he told the members of the Public Monitoring Committee (PMC), regarding the situation with humor.
“We asked the management of the pre-trial detention center to ensure that the porridge that was fed to the prisoners was sifted. Then, there such situations will not take place,” the Deputy Chairman of the Moscow PMC, Yeva Merkacheva, said.
The court will deliver the sentence against Zakharchenko on June 10. The state prosecution requested 15.5 years of a strict regime penal colony and a fine of 494 million rubles ($ 7,6 million). The ex-policeman pleads innocent. Zakharchenko was arrested in September 2016 on corruption charges.
