The Ministry of Education will oversee schools and specialized secondary schools; the Ministry of Science and Higher Education will be responsible for universities and scientific institutions, as well as will be engaged in the development of science in the country.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the new Cabinet which will replace the Ministry of Education and Science. Now, the Ministry will be divided into two different departments: the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Interfax reports.
The Ministry of Education will oversee schools and specialize in secondary schools; the Ministry of Science and Higher Education will be responsible for universities and scientific institutions, as well as will be engaged in the development of science in the country.
The Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FASO), which oversees the Academy of Sciences, will be a takeover target to the structure of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Earlier, RIA Novosti reported on merging of the FASO and the bifurcation of the Ministry of Education into two departments with reference to a source in the parliament.
Also, according to the presidential decree, the Ministry of Communications will be renamed into the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications.
The Ministry of Public Education was first established in the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 19th century. After the October Revolution, the People's Commissariat of Education was created instead. In 1966-1988 the USSR got an all-Union Ministry of Education.
The Russian government resigned in early May 2018, after Vladimir Putin's inauguration for the fourth term. After the resignation of the Cabinet, Putin renominated Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. He will introduce new Cabinet to the President on May 18.

The investigators found two rifles, including one with an optical sight, seven thousand cartridges, 14 improvised explosive devices, ten grenades, 140 detonators, a rocket-propelled grenade and 14 rounds in the unfinished building.
