Alleged paymaster of Golunov case moved from FSB to Gazprom
Marat Medoev has been seconded to the Mosenergo security service.
Marat Medoev, the assistant to the head of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and Moscow Region, to whom the media referred as the paymaster of the criminal case against journalist Ivan Golunov, has been assigned to the security service of Gazprom's subsidiary Mosenergo, reported the BBC Russia.
"Marat Medoev is staying in the Moscow office of the FSB; he is a seconded operational officer at Gazprom," the publication quoted its unnamed source as saying.
“He works at Mosenergo’s Security, which monitors Moscow TPPs,” said another interlocutor.
Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov assured the press that he did not know anything about Medoev’s transfer.
Golunov’s investigation of the city’s funeral market said that close friends of Medoev and his boss Aleksey Dorofeev controlled the funeral market in Moscow and the Moscow region. According to Golunov, it was his investigation that led to him getting framed for drug trafficking in June.
