Yakutia: head of ulus and UR party member builds country house using budgetary funds
The United Russia party has kicked out the head of the Churapchinsky district, who is currently in a pre-trial detention center on embezzlement charges.
The Yakutsk office of the United Party party has kicked out an ulus head Andrey Nogovitsyn due to the case initiated against him.
The press service of the United Russia’s Yakutsk regional office also reported that they received a recommendation to remove the authority of the parliament faction head from Vladimir Chichiginarov.
The head of the Churapchinsky district is suspected of Exceeding Official Powers. According to the Investigative Committee, Nogovitsyn build himself a country house at the expense of budget funds. He is currently in a pre-trial detention center.
Chichiginarov is Head of the Committee on Health, Social Protection, Labor and Employment of the Republican Parliament. A check conducted by the Prosecutor's Office, the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, and the MIA resulted in the initiation of a criminal case on the facts of a cartel and fraud on a large scale in respect of the managers of Region-Stolitsa LLC, Med-Market, FarmBaza, NordFarm, and medical institutions of the republic. Chichiginarov has been placed under house arrest, RIA Novosti reports.
The Prosecutor General's Office had earlier accused the Moscow region’s ex-official of exceeding official authority, taking a bribe on an especially large scale, and forgery, and demanded to seize assets worth of 9 billion rubles ($135 million) from him.
