Yelizaveta Troshchenkova, 27, world champion in equestrian sports, has been sentenced to three years in prison for fraud, reported the Mash Telegram channel.
According to reports, Troshchenkova borrowed 3 million rubles from her business partner and failed to repay it on time. The businessman went to the police. While the investigation was underway, the woman returned the money but the court still sentenced her to three years in prison.
Her husband and the coach are also named in the case, although what they allegedly did is unknown. While the woman is being held in the Moscow pre-trial detention center No. 66, she says she was going to appeal the verdict. She has already reached business ombudsman Boris Titov.
