Ufa cashier of Otkritie bank steals $103.000
Lost money found on a routine check, the woman was detained.
The cashier of the Ufa office of Otkritie Bank, 39-year-old Lilia Aznabayeva, was detained on suspicion of embezzling 65 million rubles. The suspect is confused: now she endures money for a month, now she steals at once. Loss of millions was discovered during a routine inspection. Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.
“The offense was revealed during the scheduled inspection of the bank. The materials have been handed over to law enforcement agencies, and investigations are underway,” said the head of the Otkritie Bank regional office, Aydar Zubairov.
A criminal case was initiated against Aznabayeva on stealing a large scale, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, said.
Aznabayeva worked in the banking sector for 18 years, bought a flat about a month ago, where she was detained on July 23. During interrogation, Aznabayeva said that a colleague engaged her in the crime.
Earlier, investigators from Bashkiria are investigating a similar case of the Khairullina family: the cashier of the Rosselkhozbank branch in Salavat took out more than 23 million rubles from the office and hid with her husband and two daughters. The police found them a month later.
