St. Petersburg arrests three accused of fraud with pensioners' apartments

The Krasnoselsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested general director of the Social Assistance Fund for Pensioners LLC Anastasia Koroleva, her cohabitant Alexey Fomin and the organization’s agent Dmitry Chernov on charges of fraud with pensioners’ apartments until May 6, the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts informs. The defendants deny the blame but admit that they bought flats from elderly people at a lower price, and the owners were relocated to the Veterans House, St. Petersburg TV channel reports

According to the investigators, the fraudsters caused damage of 29 million rubles and may be involved in 20 more similar crimes, as well as murders. While they are accused of six episodes of housing fraud.

According to the investigators, the defendants made nice with the lonely old men and urged them to move to the "House of war and labor veterans No 1" state budgetary institution of social services. They allegedly had to sell an apartment for the services. Between 2017 and 2018, the defendants assigned the rights to at least six flats.
