Police detain friend of hockey player Artyukhin for embezzling athlete's $240.800
The victim lent money three years ago, and the recipient preferred to forget about the debt.
Moscow police arrested a 32-year-old entrepreneur who was suspected of embezzling 16 million rubles ($240.800) from 35-year-old hockey player Evgeny Artyukhin. The detainee received the money in debt three years ago, but never returned it. This is reported by the Moskva news agency.
Artyukhin filed the statement with the police on December 6, 2018. According to him, in the period from March 2015 to February 2016, the friend took money from the athlete for the development of a joint business but did not return them.
The suspect was detained on the morning of December 11 on 9th Parkovaya Street. The entrepreneur admitted guilt. A criminal case on particularly large-scale fraud was initiated against him.
Artyukhin played for the Russian team at the 2016 World Championship, and in 2003 he became the world champion among youth teams.
