Owner of Rusnano’s portfolio company detained upon $8m-embezzlement case
The co-owner of NT-Pharm is suspected of withdrawal of 475 million rubles ($8 million) during construction of production capacities in the Yaroslavl region.
Officers of the capital Ministry of Internal Affairs detained co-owner of Rusnano’s portfolio company NT-Pharm Rustam Ataullakhanov. RBC reports about it with reference to sources.
According to an interlocutor of the portal, Ataullakhanov is suspected of embezzlement of 475 million rubles ($8 million) allocated by Rusnanotech for the building of pharmaceutical production in the Yaroslavl region. It is noted that the businessman acted through the director of the NT-Pharm company Evgeny Sultanov.
Besides, the source added that the money for the project was allocated to Rusnano. The means have arrived into accounts of NT-Pharm within the investment contract - a contribution to authorized capital and also as a loan within this contract. As a result, the plant has not been constructed.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
