Optima Development owner suspected of embezzlement detained
The case against Khudoyan was initiated in the interests of ex-State Duma deputy from Spravedlivaya Rossiya Ildar Samiyev and Sergey Goviyadin.
In Moscow, the owner of Optima Development, Albert Khudoyan, was detained. He is suspected of fraud, his lawyer Alexander Karabanov said. Operatives of the Directorate for Combating Economic Crimes of the Main MIA Directorate for Moscow held the detention on June 14 at 0:50.
Khudoyan was charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud committed by an organized group or on a large scale or resulting in the deprivation of a citizen’s right to housing.” Today, June 15, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow will consider the petition of the investigation of the arrest of a businessman.
The case against Khudoyan was initiated in the interests of ex-State Duma deputy from Spravedlivaya Rossiya Ildar Samiyev and Sergey Hoviyadin, the detainee’s lawyer believes. The lawyer explained that they themselves did not file lawsuits against his client. They could do this to resolve a commercial dispute. But in August 2018, the ex-deputy assistant Sergey Govorukhin filed with Directorate for Combating Economic Crimes of the Main MIA Directorate for Moscow a statement on behalf of Mansfield Executive Ltd that the company had stolen property.
Samiyev himself is a defendant in criminal cases of fraud on a large scale. He is involved in frauds in the sale of luxury housing in the metropolitan complex Knightsbridge Private Park.
At the moment, Khudoyan is suspected of stealing 3 land plots from one of the companies for a total of $10 million.
Optima Development Company is engaged in construction of a residential complex Prime Park on Leningradsky Avenue, owns the Oz Mall shopping complex in Krasnodar and the Maiendorf Park cottage settlement.
