New criminal cases have been initiated against the eldest daughter of the former President of Uzbekistan Gulnara Karimova. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, cases were launched on the fact of concluding a deal contrary to the interests of the country, theft of public funds and extortion of other people's property on an especially large scale.

According to the investigation, she acquired shares of two large cement enterprises from the state at a lower cost and then sold the package to foreign businesspeople.

Now Karimova is placed in a colony where she is doing a sentence in previous criminal cases. In 2015, she got five years imprisonment, in 2017 - an additional five years for economic crimes.
