Moscow region policemen detained for $9k bribe
In the near future, the defendants will be dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and their leadership will be brought to disciplinary responsibility.
Investigators of the Main Investigations Directorate in the Moscow region have initiated a criminal case of bribe-taking by Krasnogorsk police officers in the amount of 600 thousand rubles ($8,954). Head of the Department for the Enforcement of Administrative Legislation of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Krasnogorsk, as well as two of his subordinates are under investigation.
According to the investigation, from April to August this year, the head of the department, as well as two inspectors regularly received bribes from the owner of the local business. In exchange, the police covered the administrative violations of his company. Thus, the law enforcers received 598 thousand rubles in cash, as well as 30 thousand rubles in property and “services of a property nature,” from the businessman. In the near future, investigators plan to go to court with a petition for their arrest.
The press service of the Moscow region police also noted that after the detention of alleged bribe takers, the department may be inspected. The defendants will be dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and their leadership will be brought to disciplinary responsibility.
A native of Grozny Lors Khamiev, who has served several years for preparing an attempt on Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, has been arrested by court along with another defendant. They have already been charged with the murder of Azerbaijani Garib Orudzhev during the night of February 15.
