Military prosecutor's office accuses doctors from Ministry of Defense of forging documents

The damage is estimated at 7.5 million rubles ($118,000).

A criminal case has been initiated against the doctors of the Ministry of Defense, who have achieved salary increases on forged documents, the Moscow City Military Prosecutor's Office reports.

“It has been established that 15 medical workers of the federal state budget enterprise Medical and Diagnostic Center #9 of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation submitted to the cadre body false documents about the availability of qualification categories, on the basis of which their salaries were increased. As a result of these illegal actions of physicians, the state suffered damage totaling more than 7.5 million rubles ($118,000),” the press service of the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office said.

Military investigators opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 1 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (Swindling), part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (Swindling committed on a large scale). In the case there are 12 doctors, for the rest pre-investigation check is being carried out.
