Human rights defender arrested over $500.000-fraud
Denis Nabiullin promised an arrestee to help him get out of a pre-trial detention centre.
The Moscow court arrested a member of the Public Supervisory Commission Denis Nabiullin on the charge of swindle of 29 million roubles ($490 thousand) until February 6. Moscow agency with reference to the press service of the Presnensky district court reports.
It became known, that Nabiullin is charged with serious swindle on a considerable scale (part 3 of Art. 30 and part 4 of Art.159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). As the investigation assumes, member of the Public Supervisory Commission has received money from one of the arrestee, and promised to help him with medical examination and to get out of a pre-trial detention centre.
Representatives of the Public Supervisory Commission when commenting the situation, declared that Nabiullin's lawyer can not visit him in jail, while today in court Nabiullin was presented by unknown lawyer. According to the members of the commission, one arrestee asked Denis to help him and claimed that he can not stay in the pre-trial detention centre, because of his illness. Nabiullin agreed to meet with his representative, but the latter came to the meeting with a package full of money, representatives of the Public Supervisory Commission claims. There was $ 20 thousand in real banknotes and $ 480 thousand fake banknotes.
The General Director of Research and Production Complex (NPK) Dedal was detained when transferring the first part of the bribe in the amount of 2.5 million rubles ($37.9 thousand) in one of Simferopol restaurants.
The sons of the former head of the village of Balakhani, Untsukulsky district of Dagestan, Magomedrasul Yakubov, had troubles with the law. They were suspected of illegal arms trafficking and ties with militants.
The main suspect is Hand-To-Hand Fighting World Champion Shakhban Machiev wounded by the return fire of a National Guard officer, is in hospital; two others, the brothers Magomed and Khaskil Yakubov, are currently wanted by the police.
The document prepared on the instructions of Head of Government, Dmitry Medvedev, does not hide the intention of the Russian authorities to support Oleg Deripaska’s structures that fell under US sanctions.
