Magadan migration department head and accountant steal $230.000 of employee’s bonuses
The staff of the regional FMS has not been getting any extra payments in five years.
Zhanna Avgustova, the Head of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) in the Magadan Region, and O. Gavrik, the accountant of the department, stole 13.7 million rubles ($230.000) from the budget.
According to the investigation, between August 2010 and August 2015, Avgustova, in collusion with Gavrik, kept the money intended for additional payments to the employees, so their subordinates have not been getting any bonuses, benefits or other payments in five years.
The Federal Migration Service official was charged with Swindling (part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code). She was sentenced to a written undertaking not to leave the town and proper conduct. The accountant was put on the wanted list.
Investigative Committee General Nikandrov, accused of taking a particularly large bribe, married in jail
The Deputy Head of the Main Investigative Directorate (MID) of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) for Moscow, Denis Nikandrov, stated in court that he had married in 2017, although he has been in the pretrial detention center for over a year on suspicion of bribe-taking.
