Krasnodar resident payed with self-printed euros

The perpetrator pretended to be a tourist and asked to accept the currency at a lower rate.

The Krasnodar police detained a 38-year-old woman who was paying in stores with fake notes of 100 and 200 euros. During a search at the suspect's home, law enforcement officers found a printer, the regional MIA’s Investigative Directorate reports.

The counterfeiter pretended to be a Muscovite who did not have time to exchange currency for rubles. She asked sellers to take money at a lower rate and made purchases on them worth no more than two thousand rubles.

The investigation established three such cases and initiated a criminal case for the manufacture and sale of counterfeit money.
