Khabarovsk Kray ex-governor Ishayev accused of stealing money from Rosneft

According to investigators, Ishayev, holding the post of Vice-President of Rosneft, signed a contract to lease premises at an inflated price with his company.

The General Directorate for the Investigation of Especially Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of Russia filed a criminal case of Swindling (part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the ex-Governor of Khabarovsk Kray Viktor Ishayev on the fact of theft of Rosneft funds based on FSB files, the press service of the ICR informs.

According to the investigation, in the period from 2014 to 2017, holding the position of Vice-President of Rosneft, Ishayev secured the conclusion of a lease agreement for a representative of a corporation in Khabarovsk Kray with a commercial organization belonging to him at an obviously inflated price.

Viktor Ishayev was detained March 28 in Moscow. His trustee, Deputy Chairman of the government of Khabarovsk Kray Vladimir Khlapov and Head of the Rosneft regional office Gennady Kondratov were detained along with him. Earlier it was reported that all three are defendants in the case of abuse during logging.

FSB officers searched the government of Khabarovsk Kray and the regional office of Rosneft.

Ishayev served as Governor of Khabarovsk Kray since 1991. In 2009, he resigned and took the post of Minister for the Development of the Far East. He was also the Presidential Envoy in the Far East.
