Investigators of the Investigative Committee conducted searches at the offices of the St. Petersburg Healthcare Committee and the St.Petersburg Pharmacies company. According to preliminary information, the event is connected with an initiated criminal case, Fontanka reports. According to Kommersant, an audit of investigative officers may be associated with alleged irregularities in the execution of government contracts for the sale of preferential drugs through city pharmacies.
Searches began on the morning of February 4 and continued until the evening. According to Kommersant, the investigators requested the documents but did not withdraw them. The committee functioned nominally.
On January 31, it became known that more than 40 oncologists were checked for bribery from former employees of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche, which allegedly brought government-purchased cancer drugs to the black market.
