Investigative Committee claims there’s evidence of Serebrennikov’s involvement in budget theft
Out of 214.000.000 rubles ($3.5m) the state provided, 113.000.000 ($1.8m) rubles were stolen.
Svetlana Petrenko, the Investigative Committee spokeswoman, stated in a press release that the investigators have gathered evidence that shows that Kirill Serebrennikov, Alexey Malobrodsky, Yuri Itin, Nina Maslyaeva, Sofia Apfelbaum and Ekaterina Voronova are involved in the misuse of funds the state had allocated to the Seventh Studio. The case file consists of 250 volumes and the accused are supposed to be studying it now.
According to the investigation, out of 214.000.000 rubles ($3.5m) the state provided for the Platforma project, 113.000.000 ($1.8m) rubles were misused. Petrenko said there was no use in demonizing the investigation since what the Investigative Committee aims to do is return the money to the state.

The investigators found two rifles, including one with an optical sight, seven thousand cartridges, 14 improvised explosive devices, ten grenades, 140 detonators, a rocket-propelled grenade and 14 rounds in the unfinished building.
