India extradites wanted Russian for the first time
He is suspected of embezzling 123 million rubles.
Law enforcement agencies in India for the first time extradited a person put on Interpol’s wanted list to Russia, Irina Volk, the official representative of the Russian MIA announced.
Anton Scriabin is suspected of Embezzling 123 million rubles (part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code.).
According to investigators, between 2013 and 2014, Scriabin held the position of Chairman of the Board of a credit consumer’s cooperative, when he stole the money entrusted to him and fled.
In 2015, he was declared wanted by Russia through Interpol, and in June 2016 Scriabin was arrested in India.
The billionaire colonel who held the post of head of the regional Economic Security Department, and then Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department for more than 12 years, kept his 1 billion ($15.2 mln) in bank accounts.
